I purchased these to replace two similar units on my aluminum-panel enclosed porch roof. The installation instructions were very descriptive and installation was simple. The only issue I had with them was that the outer flange was a bit wavy, and necessitated further tacking down to form a solid seal around the outer edge of the flange (the inner edge was fine). They have been through a solid downpour already and showed no signs of leaking.

We are building a dual purpose shed and needed skylights, 4, to create a springtime green house. The price was right and the clear color is exactly what we were looking for, cause most skylights are tinted for energy efficiency. Easy to install, lets tons of light in, and received them within a few days. Shipping was fast and made us happy so we could get the roof completed. Great value for what we needed.

I own a 13' x 21' balloon frame wooden shed which I built in 1983. The upper dome on the shed's original 14\\" x 14\\" self-flanged acrylic skylight had been broken by a falling branch and the skylight was leaking. We searched on the internet for a replacement, and found the Sun-Tek 14\\" x 30\\" self flanging domed Lexan skylight. I ordered it and it arrived within a week from Mobile Home Parts (MHP). There were no installation instructions in the box, but a quick search of this site turned up easy-to-understand installation instructions prepared by Sun-Tek Skylights. I printed the one-page instructions up, and put them in a clear plastic sleeve for ongoing reference. I followed the advice given by MHP and used only 100% silicone caulk during the installation. One tube was more than enough. I also used neoprene gasketed ring-shanked galvanized roofing nails for securing the skylight to the newly expanded roof opening. This protected the already drilled flange holes from excessively hammered shingle nails. I sealed the gasketed nails with caulk just to be on the safe side, but it probably was not necessary to do so. The Sun-Tek skylight was light and flexible, but appeared to be very tough. The shed is in a grove of 120- foot tulip poplar trees which generate lots of dirt (sticky blossoms, seeds, seed husks, leaves, and branchlets). I will be cleaning this skylight on a bi-monthly basis with a Palmolive dish soap solution per MHP's suggestion. \r\n\r\nThe most difficult parts of the Sun-Tek skylight installation were working on a 12-12 pitch roof 15 feet off the ground and removing old shingles to expose the old 15 pound felt covering the roof. This had nothing to do with the Sun-Tek product, and I would not hesitate to recommend its use where appropriate. It looks nice on the shed roof, and it certainly lets in more light than the old, smaller skylight ever did.
