Ready for a road trip?
People often ask us for RV park recommendations. This is a huge, general question, and we usually have to drill it down a little. What’s your RVing lifestyle? What part of the country are you planning on visiting? How big is your rig? Do you need every modern amenity, or are you okay with staying at a rustic park?
It’s actually hard to recommend “the best” RV parks. While this article can’t answer that question for everyone, it can point you in the right direction. Here, we’ve gathered some of our favorite parks from across the country. We’ve given each one its moment in the spotlight.
NOTE: For now, we’ve only covered North Carolina, Florida, and Texas. Eventually, we hope to cover all 50 states!

For all our RVing friends, we wanted to publish a list of our favorite RV parks in North Carolina. These aren’t listed in any particular order. They’re all great!
Goose Creek RV & Camping Resort | Newport, NC
Goose Creek RV and Camping Resort is a beautiful getaway just off 24, south of the Croatan National Forest and Game Land. This beautiful resort near the beach features a boat dock, clubhouse, swimming pool, game room, and much more.

Moonshine Creek | Sylva, NC
Moonshine Creek offers a beautiful combination of traditional, secluded camping and modern amenities. The quiet rushing of the creek enhances the atmosphere. This is a lovely, well-shaded location featuring a cool climate and tranquil woodland peace.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you follow the written directions on the website to get to Moonshine Creek. Your GPS is liable to send you down an old logging road rather than the asphalt entrance.

Camp Clearwater | White Lake, NC
Camp Clearwater is a beautiful, family-friendly campground on the shores of White Lake. The campground features a 1,300ft private beach which is considered one of the safest in the nation. White Lake is appropriately named, too: the waters are crystal clear.
Camp Clearwater features four piers on the lake, as well as a variety of campsites. For those looking to stay beyond vacation, the camp can also accommodate your manufactured or mobile home.

Camp Hatteras | Rodanthe, NC
Camp Hatteras is everything you could want in a family-friendly RV resort. The camp features access to both the ocean and the sound. All RV sites feature full hookups with a concrete pad and patio. Modern amenities include cable TV, wifi, and multiple bath houses and laundry facilities.
There’s a lot to do at Camp Hatteras. You have your pick of a heated indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and a kiddie pool that’s perfect for the little ones. Games include shuffle board, basketball, a game room, and numerous planned activities. The Clubhouse includes a kitchen, too.

High Rock Lake | Lexington, NC
High Rock Lake offers a wonderful family atmosphere along 365 miles of beautiful lake shoreline. You can park your RV or rent a cabin, whatever you prefer. As you can see, fishing here is fantastic! Boating is also a great pastime at High Rock. You can rent a pontoon boat, and there are many wonderful waterfront activities to enjoy.
High Rock Lake is perfect for getting away. You can fish, swim, or just plain do nothing. Whatever your preference, this is a great location to do it.

Cabin Creek Campground | Jacksonville, NC
Cabin Creek Campground offers a wonderful location for RV, cabin, and tent camping. It’s family-run and family-friendly. The site offers full hookups for RVs, as well as pull-through sites to make things easier. On-site amenities include wi-fi, cable TV, a convenient store, laundry, and much more.
Sea Gull Recreations, only a 5 minute walk away, offers mini golf, a driving range, batting cages, and more. Other nearby attractions include the Jacksonville Mall, Topsail Island, and the Marine Corps School of Infantry East at Camp Geiger.

Smoky View Cottages | Maggie Valley, NC
Smoky View Cottages has offered beautiful getaways in the Great Smoky Mountains since 1965. This family-friendly location is still family owned and operated. Their creekside cabins are especially beautiful. You won’t find anything like them.
Vacation rentals have a fire pit, charcoal grill, and picnic table. Linens are provided for cabin dwellers, and cabin kitchens are fully stocked. RVers can utilize full-hookup sites or rent a cabin.

Oak Hollow Campground | High Point, NC
Oak Hollow Campground offers a secluded, scenic getaway. This place is perfect for those who want to enjoy the great outdoors. The campsites are located within the 1,550 acres of Oak Hollow Park. Many sites sit on shore of beautiful Oak Hollow Lake.
The campground offers 90 paved, full-service sites; 13 tent platforms; and a club section with 24 sites. At Oak Hollow, you can enjoy a lake breeze, sunshine, and shade—pretty much in whatever mix you want. This place has it all!

Let’s face it, it doesn’t get much better than Florida! Fantastic weather most of the year, plenty of sunshine, and warm waters on both coasts. For RVers, Florida is especially great because of all the beautiful RV parks that the state has to offer. While this list isn’t exhaustive, we’ve put together our favorite RV parks in Florida. Silver Palms RV Resort | Okeechobee, FL
Silver Palms RV Resort is a gorgeous getaway near Lake Okeechobee. Bay Bayou is a beautiful, family-friendly RV Resort in the Tampa Bay area. Ocala, Florida is located midway between Gainesville and Orlando. It offers shopping, restaurants, and plenty to see and do. This great location is the home of the Ocala Sun RV Resort. Destin West RV Resort is located on Okaloosa Island, where it partakes of the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast. The beaches are some of the most gorgeous in the world, with white sands, blue-green waters, and perfect weather.

Wekiva Falls has a long history. It was founded in the 1960s by the Middelbrooks family. In 2008, the Ott family bought the park and began a series of transformations to make it even more beautiful. Emerald Beach RV Park is an excellent snowbird location. There’s lots of wildlife to see, including dolphins, cranes, and pelicans. The park’s private beach on the Santa Rosa Sound is breathtaking. With Navarre Beach on the Gulf of Mexico only 1.5 miles away, there are several gorgeous options for beach days.
With a pristine pool, a beautiful fishing pier, kayak rental and much more, Emerald offers something for everyone. Emerald Park also has a membership at Snap Fitness, which is only 2 miles away and is open 24/7. With great shopping and restaurants nearby, Emerald is an all-around great vacation spot.
